We all long for love, joy and peace to characterize our relationships, but it is often difficult...

CANA welcomes those who want to deepen their relationship as a couple.  CANA monthly sharing groups, weekend and one-day retreats, CANA@Home, and week-long retreats are consistently a place of refreshment, encouragement and renewal. We welcome you to rediscover the beauty of marriage and taste the loving presence of God.

Whether just starting out or facing into an empty nest, CANA is for any committed couple who is open to the work of God in their relationship. It is open to all Christian denominations, but also has much to offer those who are searching.

CANA is present in nearly 50 countries around the world, encouraging couples from all walks of life.  CANA is a mission of Chemin Neuf, an ecumenical Catholic community which started in France in 1973 and is now present in 30 countries.

“Thus was the beginning of the signs that Jesus accomplished.

It was at Cana in Galilee.”

John 2:1-2

our mission

CANA is a ministry of and for couples who desire to grow in their love and care for each other.  Through time alone as a couple and fellowship with others on the journey, CANA gatherings and retreats seek to be a place of refreshment, encouragement and renewal for both the couple and the individual.

CANA USA

CANA USA began in Boston in 2001 and continued for 10 years. Later a few Boston CANA couples moved west and started a small sharing group in 2012 in Dublin, California.  CANA now hosts sharing groups in several Northern California cities. Weekend retreats and our annual CANA Week welcome couples from across California and beyond.
